DALLAS, LUZERNE COUNTY- Senator John McCain still hasn't announced who will be his running mate. But a possible candidate visited our area Saturday.

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty opened the McCain victory headquarters at the Dallas Shopping Center this weekend. Pawlenty is widely regarded as one of Senator John McCain’s top picks for Vice President.

Pawlenty received plenty of encouragement but he did not speculate about his political future and offered few clues about his prospects. “It's an honor to have your name mentioned for such things but it's for such things but it's a decision that's up to Senator McCain obviously. He has looked at many wonderful people. I just don’t get into speculation beyond that,” he said.

The man from Minnesota started his climb in politics first as a councilman later as a state legislator. Former Pennsylvania Governor and Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge and Joe Lieberman are also Vice Presidential prospects.
