SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A truck driver from New York, who pleaded guilty to charges from a 13-vehicle pileup two years ago, will head to prison.

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced Bienvendido Valdez, 46, of Rochester to spend one to two years in prison, and not be allowed to drive a commercial vehicle for four years.

Valdez pleaded guilty last year to charges in connection with a 13-vehicle wreck on Interstate 81 near the Dickson City/ Main Avenue exit.

It happened back on October 14, 2005.

Valdez admitted he failed to stop for traffic in a construction zone, which caused the chain reaction crash.
